RUNNING TECHNIQUE COACHING:

They way you use or don't use your muscles when running influences your efficiency, ability to develop speed and risk of injury. A bio mechanical movement assessment looks at the way you walk and run. A functional movement assessment simulates daily activities, like squatting, and also tests your nervous system for speed, balance and co-ordination. The 2 assessments together tell us what muscles dominate the way you move, where there may be compensations due to bad habit or previous injuries or weakness from over or under-use.

Once we understand the how your muscles work, we develop a programme to correct the technique. This involves exercises and drills to stimulate the nervous system, activate muscles which are not being used (effectively or at all, and should be) and then re-training them to work more efficiently to improve your performance. Correcting technique has proven to reduce pain when moving, reduce the risk of injury and helping to remain injury free.

MARATHON SCHOOL:

We will develop a bespoke training programme for you that takes into account how you run and your level of fitness, including advising about the type of strength exercises to incorporate into your training.
